About Jim Starkweather (staff_Jim)
FROM: CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES

I started building models in 1971 when I was 6. My first model was a 1/32 P-40 Warhawk. Revell I believe. From there I moved onto the standard cars, Apollo spacecraft, and other kid orientated kits. I don't know what got me started on Armor. I must have seen a Monogram tank kit one day and said "Mom...

I will get one to go with my Tamiya M51 and Tasca/Asuka/Tamiya 2013 M4a3E8.Never can have enough Easy 8's.

Any idea how it compares to Dragons Easy 8 Thunderbolt?

I'd venture a guess it'll be a lot easier to build. The suspension bogies for one. Dragon and Tasca's bogies are 20+ pieces each while the Tamiya are something like 8 pieces. I've built the M51, those parts carry over to this.

have asked for this for Christmas, will start looking at additions - may be different markings (have stowage) or perhaps interior.....

Probably a dumb question but I am confused about the difference between this kit and the previous Easy Eight Tamiya put out.

So far Tamiya has put out 3 M4A3E8s (including this one). 2 were (and are) Tamiya molds while one was a rebox of the Tasca/Asuka kit with Tamiya figures. The other original Tamiya E8 was put out in, what, the 70's or 80's? So if you're talking about the other most recent Tamiya Easy Eight, it's a rebox of the Tasca/Asuka kit and is very good. That said I will be picking up one of these new Tamiya E8s first chance I have (assuming I have the money and I don't see a Meng Abrams at the same time).

Gonna preorder this now on HLJ!!! How did this differ from the "Fury" release last year?
NOV 30, 2015 - 05:40 PM
If you had read the others posts on this thread, you would now that last years release was a rebox of the Tasca M4A3 with some old Tamiya figures chucked in, whilst this is completely new tooled.

I ordered my first one of these beauties last night from Scalehobbyist.com. They have them in stock!

Mine is in, but not shipped as I also ordered the tank crew set and they will be shipped together. It gives me time to finish some other projects.
