About Jim Starkweather (staff_Jim)
FROM: CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES

I started building models in 1971 when I was 6. My first model was a 1/32 P-40 Warhawk. Revell I believe. From there I moved onto the standard cars, Apollo spacecraft, and other kid orientated kits. I don't know what got me started on Armor. I must have seen a Monogram tank kit one day and said "Mom...

It does come in one serious sized box, I mean really big. It looks a stunning kit and will look even better once weathered etc. The aftermarket boys will have a field day with this one. The only shame is the fixed maintenance platforms. Brian

On photo 74, is that spares nuts & bolts on the sprue?

Guys, I received my D9 on Saturday. Ordered it from lucky models and received it in 10 days. I began construction Sunday. It's an awesome kit! Lots of details, all the cab communications are included, the tracks are unbelievable! A must have kit for anybody. And yes those are bolt heads on the spruce they are used on each of the hydraulic cylinder ends for the bolt details, just goes to show the amount of detail in this kit.

Mine is still in China, according to the tracking number, bought on Aug 3rd in the Bay. ps: @DJ: thank you for the answer. What about the windows? Do you use both clear and shadowed or just one of the two. I'm not certain "shadowed" is the right word, English ain't my first language and I forget words sometimes.

The windows are a clear blue. The Israeli version will be incredible when the slat armor comes out, and even if the after market companies don't produce one the Israeli version has more detail than the American version. Dj

Ok, I've got to ask, Dj, how do you figure the IDF version has more detail than the American one? I know the IDF D9 has the roof mounted MG, smoke grenade launcher brackets (launchers not included), and different lightgards. But other than those additions it's the same kit out of the box. And yes I do have the kit also, 2 of them in my greedy hands right now. The only thing keeping me from starting on the first one is the Meng T-90 on my desk at the moment. Mike

Mike, Bro you answered your own question, roof mounted mg, different light guards, the blade lift cylinders are different, the Israeli color scheme in my opinion has more detail. I didn't say it had a lot more detail I said it had more detail. Dj

Just got mine today, and seriously... WOW!! This, with HobbyBoss's M1070, will make a grand combination! All this plastic, and all this detail for $65 (including shipping)... I can afford to get two probably for less than the price of one resin one!! THANK YOU MENG Hisham

Ok, I guess I just don't consider that stuff as "details", it's just more, or different "stuff". Whatever the case it's a great kit! I'm itching to start on it! Mike

On my list to get. Looks awesome, and I love such challenging kits.
