introduction

Plus Models' resin kits are well detailed with no flash to remove. There is only the casting block to remove from the bottoms of the Concrete Barriers and the rear of the Funeral Wreaths. Sand paper easily takes care of this without any loss of detail.

Barriers

The Concrete Barriers can be combined in many ways to create modern urban dioramas. Roadblocks commonly seen in Iraq and other conflicts quickly come to mind. These are commonly found in road construction zones. They can also be seen at airfields for building or compound protection. The kit runs around $10 and includes the 4 barriers as shown.

Wreaths

The Funeral Wreaths come in a pair with very intricate detail of the wreath and flowers. Also, ribbons may be hung from either or both sides of the wreath. These come on a decal sheet with last respects written in 3 languages as shown. The easels come in 2 parts. This set is a welcomed addition for creating a scene where we can remember those who served but did not return.

conclusion

As 1/48 scale continues to add more modern armor and aircraft subjects, these sets will be useful for many diorama builders. Add these accessories to other modern 1/48 kits, such as those from: Tamiya, Quarter-kit, Airfix, Miniman Factory, DToys, Blackdog, and Propaganda Kompany to name a few.

SUMMARY
Highs: Ready to use diorama pieces for the growing market of Modern military kits in 1/48th. Appeals to Armor and Aircraft builders, and possibly others like RR, civilian/automotive, Navy, etc.
Lows: I have had trouble with some Plus Model decals in the past coming apart during soaking.
Verdict: I'm a huge fan of Plus Models. These items are no disappointment in quality, and they can be used in many create ways. Great products!

About California Greg (GregCloseCombat)

My father was a model junkie of all scales, and he got me started when I was little (5 to 8 years old maybe?) doing some Monogram Snap-tite kits. Then at 8 years of age, I practiced the art of fireworks and BB gun marksmanship on those kits. When I was 25, he gave me his 1/48 unbuilt Bandai kits t...

Hi, my first review attempt. Forgot to mention the word "Forever" is misspelled on the decal sheet. Thanks

Greg, Thanks for the review. The weaths will allow for some really good ideas in dioramas. Do you know if they are also available in 1:35? Based on the instructions in the accompaning photos I don't thing the printed materials fit the common definition for 'decals' or 'transfers' It sounds to me that they are just finely printed on paper and to use them you simply cut out, soak the paper in diluted white glue and drape across the wreath. Anyway....looking forward to getting a set of the wreaths. Cheers, Charles

Greg: Thanks for the review. As you said, it is so nice to see more accessories coming around for 1/48th as I'm really liking this scale. Charles: equivalent sets are available from Plus Model in 1/35th as well. Happy Modelling, -zon

I'm really liking 1/48 as well and I too enjoy seeing more armor related accessories released in this scale. I have been very pleased with Plus Models' products and hope they will continue to expand their quarter scale line.

Yes Charles, they are available in 1/35th. I have a set to review, but after the 1/48th review it seems redundant to do one for the 1/35th set, as it's the same except larger.
