The Vietnam War was the longest conflict in United States history. The United States entered Vietnam to help stop Communist takeover of that country. During the war, the US Military developed in tactics and warfare very quickly. The US was not used to fighting guerrilla warfare and they had a lot to learn in Vietnam. During the Vietnam War the US had a large range of military equipment from M48 right down to pistols. The wireless radio sets saw extensive use in Vietnam; it was installed in gun trucks, jeeps and forward operating bases.
The wireless station comes in a small pack with photograph of the radio and the resin radio. The radio is molded in two pieces in a grey resin with very nice detail. Each button and control is very nicely detailed and adds even more detail to the radio. The speaker is very nicely molded with a clear detail of the mesh. The casting blocks are not in a difficult place and can be removed with ease. The only draw back with the kit is the lack of wire for the microphone and ear pieces. However considering the minor fault, this is a really nice little radio and is a nice product for all the Nam fans out there.
A nice little radio with a lot of detail, however it is slight let down by the lack of wire to add the microphone. Nevertheless, I would recommend this to all the Nam fans.
Highs: Nicely cast, great detailLows: No wire to for microphones or head phonesVerdict: A neat little radio that will look nice on any Vietnam diorama.
