Introduction:

ASM-010 Neoclassical Fountain is another base kit from the very useful PegasObjects range from Pegaso Models. These kits can serve the modeler as either parts of scenes or complete scenes; these highly detailed 54mm resin kits that can be used as scenes for figures, or part of the modelerís scenic construction. Italian sculptor Luca Piergentilli sculpts this kit, Neoclassical Fountain.

Boxing:

The kit comes in a sturdy dark colored carton box. The box-art, painted by Lorenzo Bartolomei, shows 3 different views of the kit (including one featuring a figure, which provides one with a good sense of size), which serves as a painting guide. The box is filled with paper strips as protection to the 4 resin pieces, which are inside a zip locker plastic bag.

The Kit:

These scenery kits are designed to be simple in construction, and this one, consisting of only 4 pieces, is no exception. Two pieces for the lower base of the fountain, one decorated piece for the standing part, and the water tube length. The dimensions of the fully assembled kit are 5 x 5 cm for the base and 5,5 cm in height.

Quality:

The kit is sculpted really nicely, with good detail and clean surfaces. The overall shape is a bit different than a plain fountain, and this definitely adds to the total picture of the finished kit.

The casting (done from the Greek company YS Castings - Masterpieces) is absolutely flawless with no air holes or anything that has to be corrected. A fresh blade easily removes a thin casting line along the edges of the pieces.

Fit:

The kit is simple to assemble and with some CA glue you will finish the assembly in just few minutes. It comes together nicely with no need of scraping or sanding.

Conclusion:

This is one of the sceneries you always wanted to have for one of your figures, but itís not that easy to scratchbuild yourself. Beginner or experienced, you will have the pleasure of a nice sculpted kit, that just needs some nice painting to bring out the humidity and moisture feeling of the fountain. Highly suggested for all modelers. Take care in painting and you will be ďPegaso SatisfiedĒ!

About Costas Rodopoulos (Major_Goose)
FROM: KIKLADHES, GREECE / Ελλάδα

I started modelling 27 years ago with some 1/72 planes and military vehicles. Soon the diorama bug got into me and with Sheperd Paynes books I dug in. I loved to build dioramas and military vehicles till the Vietnam Era. I don't like modern stuff so much. 4 years ago I had a crush on figure painti...
