Introduction
Hearing of new figure companies is always a pleasure. Competition makes better figures and more choices for the customer – the modeler. Figuralia is a new company from Italy, a garage project by skilled modeler, and Historicus Forma member, Luca Piergentilli (who is also a sculptor for the Pegaso Scenics range).

Figuralia’s first release is the 1/10 scale native warrior bust titled “Body Paint (B110-01). Cast in resin, this first release is a clear indication of Luca’s talent and of things to come.

The kit
The kit consists of only 2 pieces, namely the bust, and the base. Also included is a metal pin for joining the bust and base.

Included in the packaging is an impressive 4 pages leaflet with information and detailed painting instructions - in 4 languages! The leaflet includes many pictures of the finished bust painted in 2 different mediums, indicating color codes in oils and acrylics for 2 different painting schemes.

Quality and Detail
The creamy white resin cast is flawless. According to the manufacturer all castings are individually by hand; quite literally, there is no cleaning required. The bust is ready for priming and painting right out the box!

The facial details are crisp and symmetrical, and proportionally the bust is very accurate - I think this one is going to be great fun to paint!

Painting
No figure or bust with a lot of flesh is ever easy to paint and, as the guy is naked, this bust is only flesh! Fortunately the modeler has the option to paint tattooed or mud versions as well. The aforementioned leaflet will be of a great help to the modeler in this respect. An abbreviated copy of the leaflet can also be found on Figuralia’s website.

Conclusion – Final Verdict
This is the first release of a small company and its really good. With flawless casting, a unique subject, and a lot of thought going into the information leaflet, this bust is highly recommended!

About Costas Rodopoulos (Major_Goose)
FROM: KIKLADHES, GREECE / Ελλάδα

I started modelling 27 years ago with some 1/72 planes and military vehicles. Soon the diorama bug got into me and with Sheperd Paynes books I dug in. I loved to build dioramas and military vehicles till the Vietnam Era. I don't like modern stuff so much. 4 years ago I had a crush on figure painti...
