SUMMARY
Highs: Easy to understand, great photography that clearly spells out different techniques. This would be a great series for anyone wanting to move their skill level to the next rung.
Lows: No real drawbacks, some of the techniques would be a bit too much for beginners. Maybe would have been more user friendly if each of the techniques had been rated for beginner, intermediate, advanced, etc.
Verdict: A concise two volume set that covers virtually all aspects of building from choosing a kit to the final level of weathering with both text and photography. Wherever your skills happen to fall on the spectrum Adam's work can help to the next level.

About Rick Cooper (clovis899)
FROM: CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES

I have been modeling for about 30 years now. Once upon a time in another century I owned my own hobby shop; way more work than it was worth. I tip my opti-visor to those who make a real living at it. Mainly build armor these days but I keep working at figures, planes and the occasional ship.

The books are well laid out and I like the build/paint process. There are a lot of typographical errors that could've been corrected with a quick proof read though.

Where can you get them? Barnes and Nobels can't get them. I know they are about $50 each.

Amazon has them. http://goo.gl/67uVyj

I ordered both of the books and the information they provide is great. His explanation of the reasoning behind some of the techniques used is as valuable to me as seeing the technique done. I think it allows developing your own methods instead of just copying those of other modelers. Very highly recommended! Paul H
